#1 Change your mindset
Your thoughts guide you to be the person you are. If you think that you are not smart, you will not be smart. If you think you will not be successful, you will not be successful. Perform this simple reflection; think about to a time when you completed a task that seemed impossible in the beginning. What was the task? How were you able to complete it? What were you thinking before, during and after the task?
If you are able to answer the questions, you will find that your mindset changed for that one task. Now imagine if you think that way all the time. You will be able to achieve whatever comes your way. Change your mindset!
#2 Believe in your dream
Everyone has dreams. Those that make their dreams become reality believed as such. If you take a look at all that is around us materially, someone dreamed of it. When you believe in your dream, it becomes a goal. Once a dream is a goal, it becomes tangible. You can put a plan in place to achieve that goal. When you achieve your goal, your dream has become reality. Believe in your dream!
#3 Discipline your disappointment
Failure and disappointment are a part of the process of achieving success. Understanding how to deal with failure and disappointment will be the difference in you achieving your goal. Most people will agree that you learn more from losing than you do winning. You will not like losing but what you learn will be more valuable. Failure is a step towards success. Know that you should not be disappointed if you do not meet a goal. You now have the opportunity to get better, learn from any mistakes but most importantly, try again. If your success means that much to you, discipline your disappointment!
#4 Focus your efforts
Focusing your efforts is simple but not truly understood. Focus your efforts on what is necessary to achieve your goal. Recognize through planning what activities are needed to achieve your goal. Develop tasks for those activities, perform and follow up. Focusing your efforts comes from proper planning. Plan well and focus your efforts to execute well!
#5 Mastermind group
It has always been said that "two heads are better than one". Developing a mastermind group (even if only just one other person) will be instrumental in achieving your success. When you are interacting with like-minded individuals, you will get different perspectives. You will also get energy and encouragment. Fireproof Your Vision Against Vision Killers

Six Deadly Vision Killers

Every individual once had a vision of a better future, a future filled with the good things of life: a good car, a happy family, a beautiful house and perhaps a booming business or career.
Statistics however indicates that more than 60% of people who had such vision never get to their destination.
They end up living average life of regrets and painful memories.
What can be responsible for the death of their treasured visions? They are called vision killers or destiny killers. One may not easily know they are there, but they are deadly and dangerous.
Friends
Fiend will either weaken or strengthen you. They will either draw you closer to your vision or take you farther away from you desired destination. Associating with the right friends is important in actualizing our vision in life. Some friends are deadly, because they will not only kill our vision, but will also ensure that the vision is buried.
The world second richest man- Bill Gates had a childhood friend called Paul Allen.
They both co-founded the Microsoft Corporation which today has become a worldwide brand.
Microsoft was a vision of Bill Gates, who had the good fortune of having a good friend in the person of Paul Allen who helped him actualize the vision.
Watch out for the type of friends you keep!
Pride
Pride is as deadly as a viper. The reason why it is deadly is this: A person may never know he or she is proud. Pride will blind a man to the reality on ground. Humility will cause a man to seek the counsel of others as he navigates his way to his desired destination.
A proud man will never stop to ask for direction in his journey towards self destruction.
Procrastination
Procrastination is defined as the act of postponing task which ought to be done.
It is a great killer of destiny and also of life.
Lack of planning
The reason why so many people fail is because to fail to plan. One of the most wonderful insect the world over is the ant. When it is winter, they store up enough food in their colony. During winter, when the cold is becoming unbearable, they never lack anything; because of the reservoir of food they had stocked pile.
It amazes me, that Ants are better planners than some individuals.
It was not raining, when Noah built the Ark.
He had to plan ahead, because He knew the flood would surely come.
People were mocking him, and calling him names, but he kept on to the plan God had revealed to him.
He refused to be distracted. The United States and other European countries are facing a serious economic crisis, because those at the helm of affairs refused to plan properly.
Laziness
Laziness is a deadly vision killer! For those who are lazy, God instructs them to take a cue from the little ant. Ants are noted for carrying objects that are bigger than them. This is only made possible through sheer hard work and determination. Ants are not only strong, but also hard working. They are not scared of heavy task, but rather take pleasure in lifting these objects to their colony.
As individual, we must not look at how big a task is, but look inward at our God-given ability, and we would find it easier to accomplish task that seemed insurmountable.
For those who are lazy, poverty will surely come to them like armed men unaware.
Lack of foresight
To have foresight, implies the ability to see and think ahead.
It involves the ability to envision possible future problems or obstacles.
When a man has foresight, fresh ideas keep flooding in.
if a man keeps doing the same thing over and over again and he expects a different result that is another definition for insanity.

Fireproof Your Thinking By Making It Creative

Creative Thinking is the Key to Success in Everything You Attempt - Is it a Faculty You Can Develop?

Every invention; every discovery; every new idea, began with an imaginative thought that originated in the human mind. This has been so since the beginning of time.
There is a general misconception that the ability to think creatively and come up with original new ideas, is a natural talent - like musical ability - possessed only a fortunate few.
But this view is completely erroneous.
Creative thinking is a mental skill. Like any other skill, it can be developed. There are certain steps to be followed. The thought processes involved from the first glimmer of a creative new idea to the successful end result are always the same.
First, the person in whose mind the new idea first originated, identifies the need for the new product or service. This is a strong motivating factor if the need is an urgent one.
Every aspect of the situation is examined to determine how this need can be met.
This is followed by the process of visualizing a satisfactory and successful end result.
The final stage in the process is trial and error.
This requires experimenting with a number of different techniques to determine the most effective way to achieve the desired result.
The same stages in the process have continued from earliest times until the present day.
Let us take as a typical example, the development of the bow an arrow.
The bow and arrow is an example of early man's ingenuity, born out of an urgent need; the need to feed and defend himself.
When primitive man invented the bow and arrow, several thousands of years ago, he used creative imagination to visualize how the flexible branch of a tree could be used in an entirely new and original fashion. He formed a mental image of the branch being bent into a certain form with sinew tied to each end.
It was also necessary for him to visualize which sinew would be most suitable for his purpose. He had to experiment with a variety of sinews from different animals.
The early invention of the bow and arrow was the result of looking at a situation at a new and original fashion. The same creative process has continued to the present day.
The life skills that enable inventors, innovators, artists and designers in every field to put their original ideas into practice, are definite skills that can be learnt and developed.
There are certain steps to be followed in this learning process, but as with every skill, this learning process depends on the quality of the instruction. There is no question, however, that creative thinking, with adequate training is a faculty that everyone can develop.
Dennis Fisher is managing director of financial and investment Companies. In addition to his involvement in many different fields of business, his interests include an in-depth study of various schools of practical psychology with special emphasis on ways to develop the ability to think creatively.
